There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is illegal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling centers in Asia. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and although visas are apparently required to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many borders.
The first Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling den, features 150 slots and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that highlights numerous luxuries accompanying the gambling den, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 tables.
